Nope, I haven't lost my mind (lately), but some days it sure feels like a near thing. Actually, my blog title today was inspired by the vase on my kitchen windowsill. From the outside it looks good, but it's flawed on the inside. During firing it developed a hairline crack extending about 1 1/2" down from the inside rim. You can't see it on casual inspection, but take a closer look and you can't miss it. Aren't we all like that at times? We talk a good talk, but up close and personal our cracks will show. Still, we're useful in our imperfection. As the Bible says, "But we have this treasure [the life of Jesus] in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." (2 Corinthians 4:7)
Today was our daughter's first AYSO soccer game. She's a new player, inexperienced, while some of her teammates have played for a year or more, but she held her own and tried hard. I'm proud of her for her hard work and good sportsmanship.
