Just after dawn, looking out my office window today.
Sunshine and blue skies again today, a much-needed two-fer of bright weather in the depths of winter. Now that we're past Groundhog Day, I can really tell myself that spring will be here soon. Everything has its cycle, and I'm not impatient - just anticipating with pleasure the turn of the seasons bringing spring back our way again. One of my favorite scents in the whole world is the fragrance of thawing earth and renewed growth in early spring, when there's still ice lining the creeks and snow lurking in the shadows. That feeling of the back of winter being broken, that "spring in Narnia" sense of wonder. I can hardly wait!
